The B1 Patrol is effectively a B1 Recce with an additional, wired hood covering the head area. The hood is stiffened by two wires - one around the rim, and a second one perpendicular to help maintain depth in the hood. There are also guy points around the rim for supporting the hood if necessary. Being developed specifically for alpine use, the B1 Patrol does not have a mesh insect screen.
The truly unique feature of the B1 Patrol is its X-tex fabric. This absorbs any condensation that may form inside the bag, and in doing so prevents your sleeping bag from getting wet. X-tex is the first fabric that genuinely manages the problem of condensation and you can read more about it here.
